kiss my fucking ass.

* cannon:
"I'm sorry to break the news to you, but despite the nation's momentary annoyance with Mr. Bush's war, most Americans remain, in their hearts, thatclose to fascism. Do you see any evidence that members of the Booboisie (to use Mencken's term) are no longer thoughtless, ill-read and poorly-educated? Mr. and Ms. Average Americano remain easily swayed by the Id-based appeal, by greed, by ethnocentricity, by bigotry, by superstition, by jingoism, by short-term thinking, by appeals to fear. The old SubGenius joke still holds true: "You know how dumb the average guy is? By definition, half the people are dumber than that."

How can progressives hope to speak to a citizenry raised on Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, a citizenry frenzied with religious madness, a citizenry which has forgotten that this country prospered under a steeply progressive income tax system, a citizenry which refuses to understand its own best interests?

The only way to create an ideological shift is to humiliate Bush and to obliterate everything he stands for.

Only impeachment can accomplish that goal.

Do not trumpet your virtues, Democrats. Do not attempt to do anything in a positive sense. Not now, not yet. First crush the enemy. Obliterate him. Grind him into dust and then dissolve the dust in acid and then bury the acid in the desert and then drop a nuclear bomb on that patch of desert. Do so while you can. You have only a short space, for the foe retains the advantages of money, media and sheer shamelessness. The bad guys will regain their muscles -- and soon. Within months."

* this via don: "Another funny bit I just tripped over while surfing: while it would only rate a 'PG' in Canada, presenting"Buzzflash's First X-Rated Bush Fridge Magnet"."
(i'd like to think that it'd carry a PG rating in Australia because it says "with all due respect")

oldschool - forwarded.

you are a gentleman.

the person's name was WakeUp.

it certainly was a difficultish moment for me too - trying to balance/manage 'appropriateness' - WakeUp's tone was definitely uncivil.

Well thanxxxx, oldschool. I wondered if I was imagiming things with WakeUp, but I felt like they were a troll who followed me from The Washington Note. I kept telling Luke not to cut them off because, rude as it was, I found their attitude really intriguing in a labortory kind of experminetal way, watching their syndrome unfold. What made you think of this now? I wrote a couple of retorts that didn't get posted. They were doozies, if I say so myself. Ask LeeB. Actually, WakeUp is how LeeB first came here. I asked her to come over and check it out because I wondered if I was taking it too personally.
It was our good fortune.

I've been buried in XMas wrapping paper for the last couple of days. I'll be normal again as soon as I get it all in the mail. PHEW. Hugs, guys.

Good on you, Oldschool. :-) I'm so relieved to see this and to know that you noticed what I noticed. Now, I feel much better -- like, if this troll turns up here again, we can ALL pounce when necessary. Yay!

XOXOX

oldschool, I was wondering what the heck that whole exchange sounded like to everyone else.

I love a good argument, as you may have noticed, but some of it did smart a whole bunch. Nice to know I had a sympathizer or two. All better.

On the gift wrapping, I'm in the ballerina dolls and bug habitats deptartment, but X-large, good to know. Peace to men of good will!!!!
Hugs, Kax
