Waxman is a member of a party that has fully endorsed the unending WoT. Congressional critics of the Iraq policy suggest the war (occupation) in Iraq is but a diversion from the unending WoT. It seems likely that a real investigation of 9/11 or Edmonds' case will show the US political system to be completely corrupt. So how will the Establishment investigate itself?Trackhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18387081215729592952noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5194776.post-11434578320939167832007-03-22T07:41:00.000+11:002007-03-22T07:41:00.000+11:00Eisenhower understood the potential for evil in th...Eisenhower understood the potential for evil in the military industrial complex; however, it doesn't exist in a vacuum. It is no more or less than people design, and indeed it has become evil, but only because it is the tool of evil people doing evil things. The MIC isn't a conscious entity, not yet, and can't be something other than that for which people use it.

Small men with small minds decided the MIC must be protected and fed, and used to blow things up and kill people in as many places and as much time as they can manage. However long it takes, however many people die, however much it costs, this program is inevitable and must be accepted because, as the rationale goes, the MIC is essential to our security and has only the redundant purposes of destruction and death.

But what if the MIC diversified? No rule says the MIC can't engage in engineering, manufacturing, land management, construction, transportation or anything and everything else; that is, any and every endeavor other than destruction and death. Cretins like Bush and Cheney claim the military makes a constructive contribution in the world. If that contribution exists, it is so miniscule it's invisible. They wouldn't change a thing. But change always accompanies time's movement into the future. I'd rather think about the good things MIC could do instead of the bad things MIC will do and hope changes happen before we find ourselves at war with the whole world, and lose.«—U®Anu§—»https://www.blogger.com/profile/01044248315262502099noreply@blogger.com
