this rather odd piece in the australian papers this morning - all near-identical press release stuff...

mr ed: the interesting thing is that this comment is the only mention of 'homosexuality' - nothing in the article(s) gives any suggestion why the attacks raise the homosexuality issue. perhaps the press release is just badly written by the military, or perhaps someone is using the story to blame gays so that the story in the mind of the reader is 'gays in military is bad/difficult' rather than 'soldiers seem to rape a lot' - watch this space - more to come im sure...
