John Kerry, Democrat of Massachusetts, who had previously said, "Marriage is an institution between men and women for the purpose of having children and procreating." Never mind that Mr. Kerry himself is in a post-procreation second marriage.

"Somewhere down the line, we became an occupation force in [Iraqi] eyes. We don't feel like heroes any more,' said Private Isaac Kindblade of the 671st Engineer Company.

Another source of anger is government plans to reverse recent increases in 'imminent danger' pay and a family separation allowance

women in U.S.-controlled Afghanistan who lately have been complaining that, under the Taliban, they were at least safe from rape.

According to www.iraqbodycount.net, run by academics and peace activists, the reported civilian death count, so far, stands at "a minimum of 6,087 and a maximum of 7,798." The estimated number of injured is 20,000.

"The world is too large and dynamic to be controlled by one power." According to Todd, whose 1976 book predicted the fall of the Soviet Union, there is no question: the decline of America the Superpower has already begun.

The history books record that World War I broke out in 1914 and ended in 1918 and that World War II lasted from 1939 to 1945. However, it makes more sense to consider the two as a single, continuous “30 years’ war” between the United States and Germany, with truces and local conflicts scattered in between.

But does that mean, then, that the United States can invade Iraq, conquer it rapidly, and install a friendly and stable regime? Unlikely. Bear in mind that of the three serious wars the U.S. military has fought since 1945 (Korea, Vietnam, and the Gulf War), one ended in defeat and two in draws—not exactly a glorious record.

hmmm - watching richard butler on hardtalk - he ran thru 4 possible reasons why wmd hadnt been found - they didnt exist, they have been hidden, they have been moved to a different country, or they have been destroyed - rb is saying bushblairhoward have lied - oddly, his physiological response (swallow) seemed to indicate that he was most uncomfortable when he said 'maybe moved to another country' - even while he also quickly added something like 'i dont think that is the rite option'... he also mentioned that he had written a glowing tribute to kelly, but his eyes seemed to dart (to the rite) when he was talking about this... when asked about kofi's effectiveness, his eyes darted to the left, down (i think)... the 'moved to another country' thing is very interesting!
