remember, scalia has the swing vote in this case.

and remember, i struggle to accept that this trip was an accident. i dont buy the story that it was ignorance or hubris or carelessness or whatever - it seemed designed to send a pr msg of some sort.

and then there was scalias odd "quack quack" comment - which to the normal person mite seem to a duck-hunting reference, but to anyone with the slightest legal background, its difficult not to at least conceive that the reference was to "if it walks like a duck, and talks like a duck, its probably a duck" (i think that was the '...but i know it but it see it' pornography case)

but heres something very interesting: "When the time came for the trip, Scalia and Cheney flew together, accompanied by one of Scalia's sons and a son-in-law, Scalia wrote."
and its interesting cos i remember that the earlier reports all said that he went with his daughter. http://www.google.com/search?q=scalia+duck+daughter&sourceid=opera&num=25&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8 altho it was a bit weird - cos i read one article that said said something like 'presumed to be his daughter' and i think there was another article which pointed out that scalia flew out alone (i think) and it kinda seemed odd for some reason that the purported daughter didnt seem to leave, or not with him - or there was something marginally weird about it that i kinda noticed that it didnt quite make sense, but thought nothing of. but now that the story has changed from 'scalia with daughter' to 'scalia with son and s.i.l' my curiosity has again been piqued...
