Subject: the migraine in spain

"On the evening of the attacks, the alarm of a mobile phone rang in a sports bag that had been recovered from one of the bombed trains and taken to a police station. Police had thought it was luggage belonging to one of the victims. When they opened the bag they discovered it was a bomb. It was not clear why it had not exploded. "

this is just getting weirder - the story keeps changing, but theres not a curious journo in sight. they just seem to ignore the apparently obvious questions - even those who are apparently trying to be normal journos.

now we've got the phone ringing - which presumably would mean that the phone had actually been activated, and that they guy was using it for inbound phonecalls. why he didnt blow up someone elses phone i dont know. altho my original question about this was around the phones address book and why errorists would blow up their phone - but then we 'found out' that the track to the accused was from the sim snapoff - and not the address book.

theres no discussion about whether the police answered the phone or chased down the caller via caller id.

and most fun of all is the site of policemen running around a blownup train (after exploding the other unexploded bombs in other bags) and picking up sonme lost baggage and taking it to the lost property without having a gander inside or being scared out of their brains.

the oddest thing is that these details dribble out with snippets here and there. id have to think that if there was a 'true' story that everyone would run the same version. given that the story is 'europes 911' why isnt there a single article that says 'heres what happened: ' pulling together the snapoff and the phone call and the bag in lost property and all the sightings and all that - especially given the uncertainty about the events.

murdockpress seems to be telling the fone-ringing story without any doubt as tho its part of the accepted wisdom. for the first time. a week or more later. whenever we hear of a train crash we immediately hear the chilling news that phones are ringing among the dead as friends call them after they have heard the news. why hasnt the media jumped on the "Death Bag Rings" story? maybe it was the boss calling to see how his day was. maybe his gf. or his mum. what a story.

and the most amazing thing, let me repeat, is that *noone* seems to question the obvious curiosities - its not just journos in the inner circle, or mass media publications - every lefty rag in the world seems to be running heartfelt stories about why "its not appeasement, and dont use that dirty word" and "everyone hates bush" and "iraq was stupid" articles - but no-one seems to mention the holes in the madrid/alq story. its fascinating. even amongst the other obscure shit that i read - the best most do is point to the aznar/eta lies. joe vialls was an exception (im still watiing for comment from him about the crater). even xymphora (xymphora.blogspot.com) who im in love with, has only given a timid, limited response, and very belated at that. its as tho everyones brain has been taken over.

as an aside - i just saw that stadium being demolished in the us somewhere - apparently they used 1000kg of explosives - the recent lebanon hotel bombing in bnaghdad apparently used 450kg of explosives. first point is that 450kg can presumably do a lot of damage - about half of 1000kg. (assuming that weight has anything to do with it - presumably it does, cos that is the stat that is reported). and second, given the destruction that 1000kg can do, how the fukk do estimate as precise as 450kg? 450 is a lot more precise than say '500kg'. without having any idea about explosives, but some experience in propaganda - my guess is that the 450 was made up. and my curiosity is aroused whenever i see people making stuff up - cos i fugure there is prolly a reason...
