* i mentioned earlier today the new 'zarq is a sexoffender' claim - heres the fun bit - the original reference i noticed was an nyt article by Dexter Filkins 'republished' in TheAge. here's the quote in TheAge: "A 38-year-old convicted sex offender, Zarqawi is regarded by US commanders as one of the most dangerous and brazen killers" - here's the nyt quote: "Mr. Zarqawi, 38, is regarded by American commanders as one of the most prolific and brazen killers in Iraq." - the nyt article makes no reference to sex. a googlenews search of "38-year-old convicted sex offender, Zarqawi" (http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&lr=&tab=wn&ie=UTF-8&filter=0&q=38-year-old+convicted+sex+offender%2C+Zarqawi&btnG=Search+News) actually shows that the nyt article originally included that reference, but when u click on the nyt link - it takes u to the nyt article with the sex reference removed. the whole fucking system is broken - corrupt from top to bottom. itll be fun to see whether/how the 'sexoffender' meme gets bounced around the echo chamber. i hope they all hang together.

* somewhat curiously, the zarq/sex/Age article also included the new pic 'of' zarq that ive never seen before, but the orig nyt article doesnt have the pic. i wonder where (why) theAge got it from.
