* i cant believe that faux did the split screen thing. i dont trust it at all. surely not journalistic freedom or integrity or the public interest or... they know that the 43 is more likely to look like an idiot than jfk. and the oddest thing is that they did it while showing 43 as tall as jfk2 (i wonder if the kerry negotiating team pre-empted that one and lost - or if it didnt occur to them. i hope the former). everyones saying stuff like: "To its credit, FOX News publicly refused to follow these statutes of the memorandum." in a world of karlrove, and the fact that no-one sensible has ever b4 started a sentence 'To its credit, FOX...' - ive gotta say, im cynical. we'll see. whats the alternative? they thought jfk2 was less likely to look like an idiot??? in fact, thinking about it, the other really odd thing was that they agreed to 3 debates. they didnt need to do that. even johnhoward got away with just one debate. and he can actually speak. vociferously. praps the storyline is 'well we were gonna have 3 debates, but they broke the rules' - it reminds me of the 'meet the press' interview where i speculated that the only reason for having him on there was to pre-empt him not having to debate come nov.

More in September than August.” - it was as though he'd rehearsed this line. they must have. cant they find a better way of making the same statement??? btw - kudos to kerry for at least getting the months in order. wot if he got them wrong? and for wot benefit? its exasperating. how hard would it be to say 'its getting worse every month - 20 in june, 30 in july, 40 in aug, 50 in sep - its getting worse every month' - isnt that better? in every situation? grrrrr. like i say - i dont like critting the campaign - or giving any strategic advice or woteva (and far be it for me to give advice on execution) - but his own words can be simply be delivered better. more simply. without losing anything. its exasperating. he's running for farkin president for xsake. the point they are trying to make is 'things are getting worse' and this is what they come up with “More soldiers killed in June than before. More in September than August.” - with the added risk that he might get himself mixed up and sound stupid. and we get 'not even near the center' and such others and 'ive never wilted' or 'but you can be certain and wrong.' - did they really not know that he was gonna have to deliver these lines? is this what they rehearsed? or did he flub his lines? hopefully it was the latter. these are his best shots. iraq was wrong. saddam didnt attack us. the war is a mess. and you're a stubborn bully taking the country&world in the wrong direction.
