grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

* joshmarshall seems to have a big breaking story about 'lost' (IAEA monitored) explosives in iraq. http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/week_2004_10_24.php#003778 and http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/week_2004_10_24.php#003777
nyt is also reporting http://www.nytimes.com/2004/10/25/international/middleeast/25bomb.html

im very wary of this story - altho it looks like a biggy. i was wondering when we'd see karl - this story smells of rove - but it *reeks* of cheney. they are saying that the story was hidden for 18 months but that it just escaped. i trust josh - but im very suspicious about the story. hopefully its rovian. maybe its a chenian precursor to a stupid fucking errorist attack. remember - cheney has been talking all week about nuclear rain.

whether its cheney or rovian - i dont trust the story - go read the nyt article - it reads like the standard fiction. cept scarier. i hope its rovian. i hope its rovian. assuming the josh is accurate in the significance - if its rovian, we might lose the election. if its cheneyian, we might lose nyc or sf or vegas.

in other news, the weeklystd is going all out on the zarq=alq thing (i dont follow them enough to know if thats significant) - although its difficult to imagine the current zarqalq weighting as being normal.

meanwhile, zarq executes 50 iraqitroops. the devil. the sexoffender. how can we negotiate with such a person?

the only positive news is that this latest munitions news didnt escape on friday - altho one imagines that the campaign season over-rides that. perhaps thats why we got the opposite timing (im assuming that the story is as important as josh thinks it is - which it seems to be). praps why we got that quite-odd story recently about the nuke sites being dismantled. brick by brick. visible to satellite. 'americans only guarded the oil ministry' etc etc

does anyone have any heartland clients that need to be attended?

and this latest story also puts those w/end stories ive been worried about in some perspective - i was wondering if they were intentionally distancing themselves from any knowledge of an impending attack. thats exactly the cheneyian bit that ive been worried about - i couldnt see any *purpose* of thise stories - which is what concerned me - but they seem to make more sense now. which is scary.

if this exercise is rovian (rather than cheneyesque), then why did we get those precum stories? if we imagine those stories are related, then its difficult to imagine the precursor stories, in a rovian world, arent a part of the same prop-program. and thats scary. its more than possible of course that the precursor stories are unrelated to this latest story - but im not convinced.

grrrrrrr.
