Marines' new motto: “We're looking for a few goodapples.”

VOTE
* "Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell has requested a protective order to prevent him from being interviewed as part of an unusual court challenge of the presidential vote.
Blackwell, in a court filing, says he's not required to be interviewed by lawyers as a high-ranking public official, and accused the voters challenging the results of ``frivolous conduct'' and abusive and unnecessary requests of elections officials around the state."

* "the Bush Administration has suggested, according to Reuters,
that Iraq tamper with its election results if they're not to the
liking of the Administration and Iraqi officials. Specifically, the
Administration, which is concerned about fundamentalist Shi'ite
majority-rule in Iraq -- while, some would argue, perpetrating
fundamentalist Christian majority-rule in America -- has proposed
to Iraqi officials that the nation's Sunni minority be granted
electoral representation they have not earned if their "turnout
[is] low" on election day. There is no word yet on whether
African-Americans will be granted increased electoral
representation in America due to their intentionally-suppressed
turnout on November 2nd, 2004.

The announcement of the Bush plan -- which appears to have been
intended, as with most Bush plans, as a secret -- follows hard on
the heels of the Administration's unilateral announcement that it
would not accept the defeat of its favored candidate in the recent
Ukrainian election, because the final vote tallies did not match
the exit poll results.

[Pause].

The Administration believed the exit polls to be correct and the
final vote tallies to be incorrect.

[Pause].

Somewhere in a blue state, a Kerry-Edwards supporter has just died of irony."

* "AMY GOODMAN: Speaking about healing wounds what about the poisoning of Yushchenko?
FRED WEIR(CSM): Yeah. That's one thing that will have to be sorted out. It's a very strange story, and I don't think that we have heard the truth about it yet, or the last of it. For example, the man that Yushchenko claimed was among the poisoners, the General Igor Smeshko turns out to be a strong supporter of Yushchenko and is going to be on his team. I just don't know about that, but certainly that whipped up a lot of passions over the past couple of months. It seems to be the signature of this really ugly process that took place here in October and November. I think that the jury is just out on what happened there, who poisoned him or if he was poisoned or how. I think we just have got to wait for investigations on that.
