VOTE
* someone has finally picked up on 'my' point about floridian early voting, thus being largely missed in the exit polls (altho it seems that NEP actually did some phone polling for early voters, contrary to what the NEP website says - however the author actually points to that original usatoday article which is a gallup poll, not the NEP poll.)
"Florida early voters:
Because of the large number of early voters in Florida, the exit poll
discrepancy there is even more dramatic than I documented (UEPD: 9-13). By the end of October, 30% of Florida’s registered voters had reportedly already voted early/absentee, and out of these, Kerry reportedly led Bush 51%-43%.25 Assuming that another few percent voted
October 31 and November 1, and that 60 – 70% of registered voters vote, early voters account for approximately half of the electorate. Whether or not exit polls are biased, there is no reason to presume that phone polls would be too. In fact, the telephone polls, on average, clearly were not biased in favor of Democrats. So either we assume that TWO previously reliable methodologies are suddenly all wrong (one in Florida only) or the on site exit poll was off by 10%, an impossibly high number given the sample size, care and emphasis given to that state." - anyways here is dr steven freemans latest exitpoll analysis - which is a pretty good read if u are interested - altho its 40 pages (pdf), but its not too heavy)

* the wall2wall coverage of 150k dead asians is dwarfing the collective coverage of 100k dead iraqis. where are the gazillions of dollars of private and public munnies for the iraqis? where are the interviews with the 'eye-witnesses' in iraq? where are the heroic stories of brave iraqis saving each other? the harrowing tales of lost children? the human tragedy of the tsunami is undoubtedly terrible - but thats simply what nature can do. the same suffering, brought about by human evil (and lies and greed and stupidity), is to me, a gazillion times worse. its also optional. and stoppable. unlike nature.

* Sibel Edmonds: Still Silenced, But Why? "We are getting closer to parallel confirmation of Ms. Edmonds’ gagged testimony from independent sources. These sources have uncovered, either through personal knowledge or exhaustive investigations, the same names and countries that Ms. Edmonds may not disclose. Nor may she confirm such reports. But common knowledge of the journey of heroin from Afghanistan to Western Europe to the US provides a road map. On that map are the countries of Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Pakistan and Turkey. In the documents are names like Atta, Ahmad, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, Dostum, Khalilzad, and Bin Laden; and groups like Al Qaeda, the ISI of Pakistan, and the Taliban. The names of companies like Enron, Halliburton, Bechtel, Unocal, and Bin Laden Group appear connected to the off-shore banks that hide money for three infamous families: Marcos, Bush, and Bin Laden. And the same names, like Bush, Cheney, Rice, Bin Laden, Zelikow, Woolsey, and Giffen, intersect in the perpetration of unspeakable atrocities in the quest of empire and power" http://baltimorechronicle.com/121704Hogue.html
