* cliffarnebeck gets some traction - the funders of the smear were released. is ohio broken? http://www.cleveland.com/news/plaindealer/index.ssf?/base/news/1106994973150020.xml

WAR
* apparently the pic i ref'd in the last email (wrt being an embrassed am) wasnt included - ive tried to attach it again - otherwise it is here http://wotisitgood4.blogspot.com/2005/02/blog-post.html

* i think rummy said on stephanopolous "if iraqis get poorer, there'll be fewer kidnappings"

* stephanopolous asked rumsfled if there are activities going on in iran "not to my knowledge". rummy also said that bio weapons are as big a threat as nuklear - cos they can be multigenerational (kinda like DU, i guess). i mention this simply in juxtaposition that 43 is only playing the nulear card wrt iran.

* rummy also got offscript - i think stephanopolous mentioned that he'd been to a briefing or something, and rummy joked 'i hope u didnt get paid for it' - calling armstrongwilliams. ummm, donald, thats why they have a script...

* here is a must-read about iraqi police training. i dont think its satire. at a minimum, read the multiple-choice questions at the bottom http://www.guardian.co.uk/international/story/0,,1405703,00.html

* "Experts from the U.S. Defense Department, the Pentagon and Israel have put final touches to a plan to launch a military strike targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities, experts at the European Commission based in Brussels, revealed on Sunday." derrrr. btw - note potus' sotu comment - iran must give up plutonium, uranium *and* terror. so even if the iranians can prove the first 2, its not obvious how they prove the thrid - even if they arent supporting terror. note also that 43 didnt make any claim wrt B and C weapons.

* and if points 1-3 above are resolved, the anti.c.rice adds another couple of layers of insurance "Thirdly we are united in our view that the Iranian regime should have transparent relations with its neighbours in Afghanistan and Iraq. Fourthly we have all been concerned about the abysmal human rights record of the Iranian regime." democracy and freedom cometh to thee. http://news.independent.co.uk/world/politics/story.jsp?story=607948

* " The US military gave anthrax shots to more than 900 soldiers after a federal judge ordered a halt to the mandatory vaccination program last October, according to news reports this week... 931 people were "mistakenly vaccinated"" http://www.cidrap.umn.edu/cidrap/content/bt/anthrax/news/feb0305anthrax.html

AMDOM
* georgia10 takes on the zygote nonsense - u can read it here (and
check out the comments)
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2005/2/5/18022/70098

* the zygote thing reminds me of a post i wrote in dec:
"* " The total rate of natural loss of human embryos (thru miscarriage)increases to at least 80 (or 90)percent if one counts from the moment of conception." awesome, i have like 20 or 40 brothers. most of them in heaven. (actually, nope, they are in hell, cos of that original sin thingy, only one of my dead brothers was baptised). the xtian-rightfolk must get totally confused by this shit. Dog is a murderer. heaven is full of foeti. my mum is a murderer. stupid fuck coburn wants to kill doctors who conduct abortion, cos foeti are people too. how long till wankers are murdered? "Robert George, a Princeton University professor of jurisprudence and a member of the President's Council on Bioethics says that every embryo is "already a human being."" so did jonk." http://www.reason.com/rb/rb122204.shtml
(http://wotisitgood4.blogspot.com/2004_12_26_wotisitgood4_archive.html) (not to mention all the others ive written on this nonsense)

* speaking of georgia10, i got an email from her - she called
wotisitgood4 "cleverly written" - as u know, she makes my heart
flutter anyway - and i love being called 'clever' (for some
reason), not that she went that far. anyways, today i heart
georgia10 even more. even if she didnt really look at wotisitgood4
- its kinda difficult to imagine how my brilliance could be gleaned
from a few words thrown together at random. she was prolly just
being polite. 'irregardless' today i heart georgia10 even more. *crush*

* "This first black female secretary of state said US history had taught her that. "When the founding fathers said 'We the people', they didn't mean me."" ummm - when the non-braindead ams talk about the america they love, they also dont mean you. http://www.guardian.co.uk/usa/story/0%2C12271%2C1406522%2C00.html

* and speaking of sotu - the whole up/down vote on judicial nominations sounded scary. especially the ecstatic applause. over 2 u, drfrist.

* speaking of scripts, and speaking off-script, theres much handwringing about jmiller's appearance on hardball and her comment s re chalabi being offered the gooniverse by the ams. either miller is lying, or its a story that should be in the nyt. and if she is lying, why is she still at the nyt? (in fact, why is she there anyway? or more to the point, why is anyone there?)

* mickeyd's is 'outsourcing' the drive-thru order taker to states with lower minimum wages. sweet. willing employers with matches and all that. http://goose3five.blogspot.com/2005/01/one-more-reason-to-raise-minimum-wage.html

* i havent read WorldNet Daily for a while - or weeklystd - or other things that i usually try to read for your safety. sorry.

* sweet jesus, it really is true. alankeyes daughter is gay. http://www.oliverwillis.com/node/view/1822

* ive mentioned a few times how it actually seems that some people are actually copying blinky's pronunciation of nucular. websters seems to have drunk the unkool-aid "usage: Though disapproved of by many, pronunciations ending in \-ky&-l&r\ have been found in widespread use among educated speakers including scientists, lawyers, professors, congressmen, U.S. cabinet members, and at least one U.S. president and one vice president." funny or sad. im not sure. http://www.merriamwebster.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?book=Dictionary&va=Nuclear&x=0&y=0

* its a budget. it has numbers.

* btw - ive been meaning to post forever that one of the bestest simplest things we could do on the planet is to get rid of farmsubsidies. everywhere. they are so dumb. now i see blinky has joined in - and i dont trust my plan anymore. i wonder who paid for that legislation, and why, and what sneaky details there are under the hood.

* "But -- most overlooked -- is Section 102 of this bill. It would empower the Secretary of Homeland Security to suspend any and all laws in order to ensure the "expeditious" construction of a set of barriers and roads to keep illegal immigrants out. It also would prohibit ANY judicial review of the Secretary of Homeland Security's decision to suspend any law. " mon dieu. http://dailykos.com/story/2005/2/5/15448/41910

* "An internal CIA report, naming individuals who may have been responsible for intelligence failures leading up to the Sept. 11 attacks, has been kept secret despite public outcries and congressional demands to release the incriminating evidence. The delays began last July on orders from CIA’s acting director, John McLaughlin, and have continued since Porter Goss took charge last September. " remember when we thought they were waiting till after the election... http://www.americanfreepress.net/html/cia_chiefs_quash.html

* im still trying to work out the sotu thing about frivolousjunk asbestos. many seem to think that it was related to halliburton - esp. given that there was a case this week... at the time, i was tempted to think it had to do with the lyin EPA on 911 or some such. i dunno why.

OTHER
* btw - there are more stories about the image of jesus or mary on sandwiches and oysters and the like. ummm - heres a question - if we acccept for a minute that these images actually look like people, where is the rule that says 'if your oyster looks anything like a person, it must be jesus'? who made that one up? i think we should stand united next time, and actually demand a public debate as to whether the oyster really does look like jesus, or more like, say, ariel sharon, or johnny carson, or condi rice, or cory haim or some such.

* i think im gonna have to start subsegmenting the AMDOM category (praps POLITIX and MEDIA?) . and IRAN will need a separate category too (tho i can hardly bear to watch).
