CONGRESSCRITTERS
* "If the fight over John Bolton's UN nomination were just about John Bolton, he'd be history already. But this isn't about Bolton, it's about the exercise of power. Same thing with House Majority Leader Tom DeLay...
We are at the point now where the Republican Leadership refuses to allow the possibility of a loss on anything, regardless of the merits. This renders "debate" meaningless, since nothing said actually matters, so truth is irrelevant." LINK
go read.
* "Mr. Bolton proceeded to chase me through the halls of a Russian hotel -- throwing things at me, shoving threatening letters under my door and, generally, behaving like a madman. For nearly two weeks, while I awaited fresh direction from my company and from US AID, John Bolton hounded me in such an appalling way that I eventually retreated to my hotel room and stayed there. Mr. Bolton, of course, then routinely visited me there to pound on the door and shout threats." LINK
* "85 percent of those who said they would vote for Senator Chafee if the election were held today, said the Senator should vote against the Bolton nomination" LINK
* ralph reed is getting more bad exposure. christo-creep. LINK
* "Melanie Sloan, CREW’s executive director, stated “e-mail correspondence between Jack Abramoff and Ralph Reed shows that Senator Cornyn was clearly more involved with Ralph Reed than he is willing to admit. Thanks to Texas’ open records act, we will soon have proof that in his efforts to distance himself from Jack Abramoff and the unfolding scandal involving the Tigua, Senator Cornyn is lying." LINK
Sloan deserves a freeedom medal
* "Rove said Democrats are attacking DeLay because they have no ideas of their own.
"I think they're just desperate," he said. "They're not offering ideas in the debate, they're not being constructive, and so some of their members are taking potshots at Tom DeLay."" LINK
* "Sooner or later the pendulum will swing again and DeLay will lose his power - although, we fear, not before he has done great damage. The American system does have a way of righting itself when things go out of balance. Sooner would be better than later." LINK
* "Asked to name the thing Congress has done over the past year that sticks out most in their minds, the highest number, 9 percent, said the Schiavo decision; 3 percent mentioned actions surrounding the Iraq war; 4 percent said Congress had accomplished nothing; while 68 percent could not name anything it had done." LINK
mon dieu. where were the good germans?
* "While most Americans don't know a great deal about the Republican leaders of Congress, Tom DeLay – the House majority leader embroiled in a scandal over possible ethics violations – is the best known and the least liked. (However) seven in ten are undecided or don’t know enough about DeLay to rate his job performance" LINK
will u people please wake the fuck up?????
* from the baker/carter hearings: " In a discussion about provisional ballots, Mr. Fund (wsj-ed)said that Congress should allow precinct workers to determine whether a provisional ballot should count because they would know who “looks as if they belong in the neighborhood.”" LINK
* "Senator John Kerry, Democrat of Massachusetts, and Senator Rick Santorum, Republican of Pennsylvania, have introduced the Workplace Religious Freedom Act, which would allow a pharmacist to refuse to dispense certain drugs as long as another pharmacist on duty would." LINK
thnx jonk. u idiot. is he really trying to woo the fetusfolk for 08??? i really, really dont wanna see a race to the right between hillary and jonk. grrr
* i noted earlier that finkelstein is gay, and has some adopted kids. negroponte also has a bunch (7?) of adopted kids - nicaraguans. nice touch. and DeLay has some adopted kids (of course, only his blood-kid is on the payroll). is adoption the new hair shirt? or a toupe-like cover? perhaps we should see who else has adopted kids...
* speaking of kids - santorum has a dead 'kid' (big fetus). so does edwards. and did blinky? or was that his dad? i wonder how many others are similarly afflicted...
