dangerous stain

FLU
* the interesting thing about the media reporting on the flu virus thingy is the fact that the medical internment thing isnt being mentioned - even to assuage any fears that we could contain an outbreak if one were to occur. silence is golden.

* we seem to have some inflation in the number of labs who got sent the h2n2 flu virus - yesterday it was 4000, today:5000

* according to cdc (on lehrer), the sending out of the h2n2 virus was wrong, but apparently not a mistake - ie, it appears that it was a bad choice to include it, but a specific choice nonetheless - ie it wasnt inadvertently included

* we finally learn when the virus originally went out: "Scientists have detected no infections from the recent samples of the dangerous strain since the specimens were sent out beginning on Sept. 10" thats 7 months. LINK
