more on the sasc letter

quick update to my post on the disappeared SASC letter to Rice about getting a formal invitation to stay from the iraqi govt (to the extent it exists).

the AP have mentioned the letter in an article (dated sunday 24th) which is titled "Michigan lawmakers help pass Energy bill" which uses this sentence: "In the Senate, Debbie Stabenow and Carl Levin won approval for a measure that would provide more than $1 million for job training programs in Michigan." to segue into the SASC letter:
"Levin also wrote Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice, seeking support for a U.S. diplomatic initiative in Iraq to seek a formal invitation to maintain a military presence in the country during the transition period.
"Changing the perception of some Iraqis of the coalition from one of occupier to one of partner with the Iraqi security forces could facilitate a greater willingness of the Iraqi people to provide information about the insurgents in their midst," Levin wrote in a letter with Sen. John Warner, R-Va.
They said it also could lead to "a substantial decrease in the death and injuries among Iraqis, and U.S. and coalition forces." Levin is the ranking Democrat on the Senate Armed Services Committee."

the AP article is (currently) only carried twice - by MLive.com and Detroit Free Press

and just for a twist, the Freep article (currently) cuts off the last couple of paragraphs with text saying "[an error occurred while processing this directive]"
for the record, heres a screengrab of the Freep article

of course, normally i wouldnt think anything of the error, but given that ive been wondering why this story appears to be hidden, it kinda added to my interest.

Levin' s site still produces an error as well

(Ron from WhyAreWeBack is pointing to my story. thnx ron. )

UPDATE: theres another update here
