FOREIGN STUFF
* two odd things from my partial watching of the teeve today - the bbc doesnt appear to be mentioning blairs latest problem about the latest revelations of the AG's advice on the legality of war. and cnni isnt mentioning the mexico protests.
* clare whatshername from the bbc reckons there were a million people protesting in mexcity today.
* "At least four of the two dozen or so U.S. delegates selected for the ( Inter-American Telecommunication Commission) meeting, sources tell TIME, have been bumped by the White House because they supported John Kerry's 2004 campaign." LINK
science is in the hands of god-folk. phew. we can all rest peacefully.
* xymphora points to this article by the former chief of the Mossad, which speculates that there might be a battle royale for saudi arabia between the ams and alqaida, and america taking over palestine. all of which would be quite interesting... cannonfire takes a look at the article too and makes some interesting points - and reminds us of the 'mossad killed robert maxwell' storyline (and no, i dont have an opinion on that one)
* "the wall to be built around Maale Adumim and the fact that the entire area of Jerusalem and its environs will end up on Israel’s side of the wall mean that the West Bank will be divided into two totally non-contiguous areas, attached only by a promised highway that will permit Palestinians to skirt Jerusalem to the east; this is Ariel Sharon’s idea of contiguity, which he calls “transportation contiguity”" LINK
we have a new orwell/grave winner. hawaii is now contiguous. sweet.
* blinky: "I believe that a true free society, one that self-governs, one that listens to the people, will be a peaceful society -- not an angry society." LINK
* " the sites shown in Sharon's photos have already been visited by IAEA inspectors, with nothing found." LINK
