when the cat's away

* the other day i mentioned that the purported upcoming Moussaoui plea didnt seem to make any sense... i havent read much about it since (so much to do, so little time), but it still seems to make no sense. heres one article about it anyway. from what we (apparently) know, he plead guilty, and then vowed to fight the death penalty (which breaks most laws of logic).
he plead guilty 'to 911' - and then claimed not to have been involved in 911, but rather some broader, later conspiracy - the missing piece of the puzzle is that if there was a broader, later conspiracy to attack, then everyone involved in that conspiracy is still at large - yet we dont see the fbi running around trying to catch them (and i havent seen any media report mention this rather glaring fact).
the article also says "FBI agents who interviewed him became convinced he was a potential suicide hijacker. George Tenet, the former head of the Central Intelligence Agency, was briefed on the case on Aug. 23, 2001, in a report titled Islamic Extremist Learns to Fly" - but doesnt mention the fact that only 2 weeks earlier the "OBL Determined to Attack" PDB for which Tenet actually flew down to Crawford.

the article also reminds us that the trial for "three men accused of planning the Sept. 11 attacks" has just started in spain - i havent been following that at all - but its amazing that this isnt frontpage news. u'd think that americans would wanna follow every twist and turn of this case like it was the michael jackson case.
we wont get a Moussaoui trial, and we arent following the spanish trial... odd.
