2000 dead ams

i posted this over at georgia10's new blog (i also sent CI a similar email today):
"here's a small recommendation: americans presumably hate the bodybag thing - and milestones tend to get some media attention (as we saw with the bodycount-clock ticking over to 1600 this past week).

unfortunately, this number only refers to military personnel. as of mar28, "The U.S. Department of Labor estimates 295 civilians employed by U.S. companies have died so far in Iraq."

its not obvious whether this number includes Marla Ruzicka and Nick Berg (it was his anniversary this week) and others, but we shouldnt differentiate between military and non-military dead americans - they'd all still be alive if it wasnt for furiousgeorge and his accomplices.

anyway, my point is that if the media likes milestones, lets make sure that they recognize when the 2000th american has been killed, and not wait till the 2000th grunt has been killed.

lets talk about the 2000 milestone in the build-up to the event, and not let the media ignore it when it happens."
