drink-soaked former-Trotskyist popinjay

GALLOWAY STUFF
* the galloway story is the #2 story here on sbstv.

* the wingnut talking-point defence wrt galloway appears to be that galloway didnt sufficiently condemn saddam. funny.

* "The central document used against George Galloway this week by the US senate committee investigating Iraq’s oil for food programme is a forgery. Socialist Worker can reveal that evidence crucial to the alleged case against the Respect MP is fake — created after the fall of Baghdad in 2003." LINK
typefonts et al? amazing. im not sure if its irony. or irony laughing at us. or an irony surfeit. or devoid of irony.
we've got the nigeranium forgeries which were crude, and the g'way forgeries were crude, and the only 'forgeries' we cant prove are the rathergate memos - ie they faux-forged the rathergate memos better than they forged the memos that are specifically false - which begs the question (i know), why dont they make good forgeries of false things?

* when the beeb is doing their galloway bits, they have one person in to discuss - someone from AEI. grrr. the beeb uses them all the time... and without warning labels.

* "Before the hearing began, the MP for Bethnal Green and Bow even had some scorn left over to bestow generously upon the pro-war writer Christopher Hitchens. "You're a drink-soaked former-Trotskyist popinjay," Mr Galloway informed him. "Your hands are shaking. You badly need another drink," he added later, ignoring Mr Hitchens's questions and staring intently ahead.
"And you're a drink-soaked..." Eventually Mr Hitchens gave up. "You're a real thug, aren't you?" he hissed, stalking away." LINK

* "By condemning him in their report without interviewing him, the senators had already given Mr Galloway the upper hand. But not everything was in his favour. For a start, only two senators were present, sabotaging Mr Galloway's efforts to attack the whole lickspittle lot of them" LINK
ha ha - galloway scared them all so much - only coleman and levin bothered to turn up - and they obviously hadnt done their homework given how stunned they looked. all the other senators were too smart - they'd rather shun the media attention *and* forgo the opportunity to bash the UN and promote their precious foil4ood baby and get lots of rightwing brownie points. think about that tradeoff...
