runaway bride is toast

AMDOM STUFF
* "Eighty-eight members of Congress have signed a letter authored by Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) calling on President Bush to answer questions about a secret U.S.-UK agreement to attack Iraq" LINK

* "This whole experience sends a signal to other corporations. Don't try to fuck over the gays. If Microsoft had to back down, the rest of you don't stand a chance. Don't think that other corporations weren't watching to see how this played out.
And don't think elected officials weren't watching, too. Now, we have to use this same energy on elected officials...
Think about it. Microsoft, the corporate behemoth that doesn't take any crap from anyone, just had to publicly admit they screwed up. That doesn't happen every day." LINK

* harry reid: " "The man's father is a wonderful human being," Reid said in response to a question about President Bush's policies. "I think this guy is a loser.
"I think President Bush is doing a bad job,"" LINK

* "Rev. Pat Robertson wrote a letter in response to one issued by Sen. Frank Lautenberg earlier this week about condemning comments Robertson made on ABC Sunday, in which he indicated terrorists were a far smaller threat than American judges.
In his response, Robertson re-emphasized his contention, saying Afghan "cave dwellers" were a far smaller threat to Americans than U.S. judges." LINK

* "Franklin was implicated last summer, but it has taken nearly a year to arrest him. In the meantime, he was, amazingly enough, still working at the Department of Defense on Persian Gulf security issues... Without further details, it is hard to know what Franklin was up to, but he was probably trying to provoke hostilities with Iran by blaming Tehran for Iraqi Shiite militancy." LINK

* " The word is out.
The Senate Foreign Relations Committee will not get the much-wanted National Security Agency intercepts in which John Bolton expressed so much interest during his tenure as Under Secretary of State for International Security and Arms Control. Under Secretaries with questionable intentions can get the transcripts -- but Senators with Constitutional oversight responsibilities seemingly cannot.
Dick Cheney and John Bolton's protectors are ever more committed to an imperial presidency -- unchallenged by other institutions of the U.S. government." LINK

* schumer: "I am making a heartfelt plea to you, Mr. President. When you came to Washington, you said you wanted to change the climate in D.C. Those stating these abhorrent views count themselves as your political allies. One word from you will bring a halt to these un-American statements. That would be a way to strengthen democracy here at home." LINK

* "A federal appeals court agreed with the government on Friday that a suit by an (sibel) who was fired after accusing the bureau of ineptitude could expose government secrets and jeopardize national security." LINK

* aclu: "In a one-line order with no explanation, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia today upheld the dismissal of FBI whistleblower Sibel Edmonds’ case" LINK

* ebay: "Jennifer Wilbanks Runaway Bride Found On My Toast!!!!" LINK Current bid: US $15,500.00

* "Ohio law now requires civil suits to be filed within two years after the victim turns 18. The current bill would lengthen the statutes to 20 years after turning 18." LINK
for some reason, the catholic church is fighting the bill. separation of church and fate... apparently the church thinks the bill has "the potential to embroil both victims and the church in lengthy lawsuits, thus diverting our legal and financial resources away from our continuing efforts to protect children and from our ministries as a church."
