don't comment on FOX News

* "Philip A. Cooney, chief of staff to President Bush's Council on Environmental Quality, has resigned, White House officials said. Mr. Cooney's resignation came two days after documents revealed that he had edited government climate reports in ways that cast doubt on the link between greenhouse-gas emissions and rising temperatures. Mr. Cooney has no scientific training." LINK

* " Rep. Weldon is supposed to appear on Meet the Press Sunday to discuss his new book" LINK
why do the loonies get so much air time? this book has already been discredited *by the source*. why are we so desperate to bomb iran? and why cant they even make up a plausibly viable story? bastards.

* "Weldon now plans to have his new book translated into Farsi and smuggled into Iran, as well as having it broadcast into Iran on the Los Angeles-based Iranian diaspora radio stations." LINK
pure genius.

* " the only thing that would ever prompt me to burn the flag would be passage of anti-flag-burning laws. " LINK

* ya know the thing about 'late friday night' releases? well, we have a winner: " The animal tested positive late on Friday." thats mad cow. (somehow it first tested positive in november) LINK

* "No U.S. forces nor civilians were hurt in the confrontation, the military said." LINK

* "House Republicans have come up with another way to rein in the U.N. The House International Relations Committee approved legislation on Wednesday that would withhold U.S. dues to the U.N. until the international body agrees to a bureaucratic overhaul and stringent internal monitoring from an independent oversight body. Since the U.S. is the U.N.'s largest source of funding -- providing 22 percent of its $1.1 billion operating budget, plus a projected $1 billion for peacekeeping in 2006 -- the House proposal is a serious sanction." LINK

* "A former army general who returned to Lebanon last month after 15 years in exile appeared headed for a sweeping victory in the third round of legislative elections Sunday as anti-Syrian candidates braced for significant losses." LINK

* random alert: "Our goal is to provide reliable child-rental services in a fun and safe environment. We strive to make customer satisfaction a priority." www.rentmyson.com
(i dont get it either)

* heres hdean: "My view is FOX News is a propaganda outlet for the Republican Party and I don't comment on FOX News" LINK
smart. thats the dems only chance. as ive said repeatedly, the dems (and more specifically, libs) will never win in the current media climate, and they can never win playing by fox's rules. ive long said that anyone who guests on fox is either vichy or stupidly dangerously delusional (you listening, david corn?). dean gets it, there is no other way to ever win than to undermine fox, and theres only one way to play that game. i dont know how powerful dean is, but he should ban whoever he can from ever getting on fox. of course, i wish he could ban people from all the other fox-lite channels as well, (cnn is better than fox like coke is better than pepsi, and meanwhile, there are way too few mojitos being sold) but maybe we need to take one step at a time. if we can dismantle the fox myth, then maybe the other channels will start running back to 'the middle'... (jeepers, it wasnt that long ago when i thought i was right of the middle)
