dumberer than a red-voter

* monbiot: "At the Make Poverty History march, the speakers insisted that we are dragging the G8 leaders kicking and screaming towards our demands. It seems to me that the G8 leaders are dragging us dancing and cheering towards theirs." LINK

* why did Lawrence O'Donnell do the KRove thing on a friday before a long weekend? i dunno. in any case, heres more from him where he disects roves parsing.

* impeachcentral.com

* "Ontario workers are well-trained. That simple explanation was cited as a main reason why Toyota turned its back on hundreds of millions of dollars in subsidies offered from several American states in favour of building a second Ontario plant."
"I guess that makes it official - Red Staters are so dumb they can't even do mind-numbing manual labor." LINK
as an aside, can u imagine being dumberer than a red-voter?

* btw - i happened to catch fauxnews running blinky's july4 speech from wherever, and when it finished, they were showing him jubilantly kissing babies or some such for about 3 seconds before they cut away to a foxnews alert at the aruban courthouse wrt MWG which didnt contain any news. it was kinda funny.

* "Under a little-noticed provision of the defense spending bill passed by Congress in May, Secretary of Defense Don Rumsfeld has until July 11 to send Capitol Hill a "comprehensive set of performance indicators and measures of stability and security" two years after the fall of Saddam Hussein" LINK

* "Heterosexuals were the upstarts who turned marriage into a voluntary love relationship rather than a mandatory economic and political institution. Heterosexuals were the ones who made procreation voluntary, so that some couples could choose childlessness, and who adopted assisted reproduction so that even couples who could not conceive could become parents. And heterosexuals subverted the long-standing rule that every marriage had to have a husband who played one role in the family and a wife who played a completely different one. Gays and lesbians simply looked at the revolution heterosexuals had wrought and noticed that with its new norms, marriage could work for them, too." LINK

* "So when (Cindy) Sheehan received an invitation to meet privately with President Bush at the White House two months after her son died, the least she could have expected was a bit of compassion or a kind word coming from the heart...
Instead of a kind gesture or a warm handshake, Sheehan said she immediately got a taste of Bush arrogance when he entered the room and "in a condescending tone and with a disgusting loud Texas accent," said: "Who we’all honorin’ here today?"" LINK

* "The reputed leader of al-Qaida in Iraq said the Iraqi army is as great an enemy as the Americans and announced the formation of a new terror command to fight Iraq's biggest Shiite militia, in an audiotape found Wednesday on the Internet." LINK given that zarq is a figment of neocon wetdreams, this shit should scare the hell outta everyone. war.without.end. (except for the dead people). further down in the article we get this standard tripe: "the voice sounded like ones on tapes U.S. officials have acknowledged were made by the Jordanian-born terror mastermind." - the evil AP doesnt quite explain who thinks that the voice sounds like other tapes, and im not sure ive ever seen anyone "acknowledge" any previous voice-print.

* here is olbermann on rove. btw - foxnews has been doing stories on plame/miller/cooper over the weekend without mentioning rove. bastards. ftr, ill never forgive olbermann for going on holidays for weeks at the same time he was doing election-theft stories. bastard.

* how did rove know that plame was wilsons wife? and who else knew? i hope fitzgerald will end up being a hero.

* btw - im seeing lots of this: "Karl Rove will have Bush put up one crazy, wild-eyed conservative lunatic in the John Ashcroft mold, and one hard-right winger who seems “moderate” compared to the crazy…the lunatic goes down to defeat, but the hard-right winger gets through, and Bush replaces the lunatic with another hard-right winger as a “compromise.”"
the logic is sound, but it just doesnt resonate with me for a couple of reasons. firstly, its difficult to imagine that blinky will accept a defeat on *anything* - theres not the slightest evidence that these folks have *any* concept of a strategic retreat. i doubt theyd ever choose 'winning' if the perception is 'losing'. and secondly, they can just go nucular and ram thru whoever they want - theyve got the 'extraordinary circumstance' clause up their sleeve, and i doubt beezlebub himself couldnt jump that hurdle - particularly if they have friends like lieberman and nelson...
