* NYT does a new 'duped or suiciders' piece with some new details, or sloppy reporting (link):
"Germaine Lindsay's rented car left in Luton had a seven-day parking sticker on the dashboard."
i didnt know his car was rented, and they repeat the 7-day thing (ive only seen that fact reported in the nyt, fwiw.)
new factoid: "Another bomber had just spent a large sum to repair his car."
" Several investigators said the July 7 bombers, ranging in age from 18 to 30, might not have been sophisticated enough to plan a synchronized attack, with three bombs exploding in the London Underground within 45 seconds.
"I just have a hard time fathoming kids that young being that sophisticated," one senior intelligence official said."
its still not obvious to me why setting 3 alarm clocks requires lots of sophistication.
"The view that the four bombers might have been duped into carrying out their suicide missions is one that is shared by family members of some of the men, who have said in interviews that they refuse to believe that they signed on to carry out a suicide mission."
of course, while the idea that they were duped into suicide is becoming increasingly acceptable, the idea that they were duped into mass murder is the elephant in the room. we darent speak its name. surely thats not a really big leap.
here's the thing, if the police dont publicly raise this possibility then every drug mule, and every potential drug mule, around the country presents a big risk to themselves, and to the broader public. hell, they could even claim some successes in the 'war on drugs' at the same time.
