faster please

michael ledeen is the scariest fucking character on the planet. heres his latest piece. (i dont read him regularly - my borderline sanity is more important than that). he places zarqawi and obl in iran - which shouldnt warm any cockels. he also wants to blow up lebanon and syria. as ive been saying for years, my best guess is that the 'who's next - syria or iran?' question seems unanswerable, and trying to read the tea leaves, the possibility that they'll attack both, simultaneously, cant be discarded.

one scary thing, for me, is that ledeen is also predicting an attack on these mighty shores - and, ftr, i feel much safer when zarqawi (or obl) 'says' he wants to attack australia than when ledeen says it. perhaps the best description of this evil man is the information contained in the sig to his own posts "He is resident scholar in the Freedom Chair at the American Enterprise Institute." - if that doesnt make you wary, then you havent been paying attention.

in any case, Ledeen is (has been) surprisingly below the radar to date. as i mentioned a while back, ledeen was fingered by cannistrano as the guy who created the faux niger documents at the heart of the plame investigation, and his partner, giraldi, re-affirmed all that last week in his interview with scott horton which i have previously pointed to. (giraldi is also the guy who wrote the story that cheney is organising to nuke iran when the next 911 happens)

ledeen has again made the conspiracy-level headlines with this post which again ties him to the niger documents and the aipac espionage 'problem', and goes way back to iran-contra - leading xymphora to say that, if true, ledeen would be "the most powerful living american". im not sure i agree with the premise of the piece - but its a must-read post. so go read. now. i said, now! oh, nd while you are at it, read this cannonfire post.

as ive mentioned a thousand times (altho noone else seems to make the link), this story is also linked *directly* to the rather-cide and the 60mins tang story. 60omins had been working on the nigeranium story for months and it got bumped in the last 2 hours to make was for the 'faux' tang story - and was never shown. as ive said repeatedly, this was roves greatest hour - many others have claimed the same thing *without* realising the much more important element which was that the *real* story was never told. if i can get rude-punditish for a minute - im sure karl lathers himself in babyoil every night giggling about this story. im a big fan of self love and all that, and if karl pulled off what i think he pulled off, then he deserves to pull-off. and if he didnt orchestrate it specifcally, then he ought get down on his knees and pray thankfully to jeebus that it all worked out so dandy. i predicted in advance that he'd do the tang thing, and i was always careful not to personify rove as a genius, but talked about the rove-machine - but if he did indeed orchestrate the simultaneuos tang thing and the bumping of the niger piece, then ill happily admit that his genius is under-rated - even beyond the evil fantasies of democrats. one thing is sure - either rove played it brilliantly, or he was really really really lucky by coincidence - and as ive said repeatedly, i get really suspicious when this crew 'gets lucky'.

can someone else please connect the dots? faster please.
