* ok - more luton confusion. the other day i asked why the cars werent reported at luton car park for 5 days.
elsewhere it was reported that " they all bought return tickets and bought an eight-hour ‘park and ride’ ticket in Luton"
todays nyt: "The Jamaican-born bomber, Germaine Lindsay, 19, left a seven-day parking permit on the dashboard of his car at the Luton train station (along with a substantial amount of explosive material in the trunk, officials said)." link
so much confusion, so little time.
its my best guess that weekly parking at luton isnt cheap, and not the sort of thing a suicider would waste money on.
separately, back to my earlier questions about how little time they had left themselves to carry out their mass murder, the datestamp on the cctv at luton was 7.21am - and they caught the 7.48 train. according to the train schedule, there was a 7.40 train that they could have caught, but didnt for some reason. maybe it was cancelled, which kinda proves my point that they really should have had much better contingency planning giving that they were going to pull off the biggest crime in half a century.
the train they ended up catching from luton arrived at kingsx at 8.26, altho it was scheduled to arrive at 8.20am. if that train also happened to be cancelled, then the next train was scheduled to arrive at 8.32 - which would have hardly given them time to get to their respective platforms and set off their bombs at 8.50am. and if that train happened to be 6 minutes late (like the one they caught), then their entire plan would be in jeopardy.
(assuming, of course, that they wanted to do as much damage as possible by setting off the bombs at maximum peak time, shortly before 9am)
