wolcotts writing

* wolcott: " (blinky) said that he didn't believe in any quid pro quo and as for Iraq--"Tony Blair made decisions on what he thought was best for keeping the peace and winning the war on terror, as I did." His manner in that interview couldn't have been more matter-of-fact and dismissive, when he wasn't blinking up a storm.
Like Johnny Rotten in "No Feelings," President Bush has got no emotions for anybody else, and can't be bothered even to go through the formal motions, having so many more important, interesting things to do, such as fall off his bicycle." link

* its probably bad, but i never even think about words or sentences when i blog - they just come straight out and i never revisit them - actually - its probably neither good nor bad - its just the way i blog - and im sure id be most embarassed to read what i actually write - but its just straight-thru-processing. it is what it is. but when i read wolcott (as per above) i just swoon, and wish i took more care, and marvel at the (apparent!) care he takes. i hope it doesnt just roll off his mind effortlessly - id be totally jealous.

speaking of great writing, make sure you read him whenever he has a new post - and similarly billmon and digby and arthur. regardless of what they say (which is always brilliant) they make the language dance. id like to think that i could too - but they do it so effortlessly that i can only drool. and bow.
