terrorist tactics

* jim lehrer's line-up tonight: 1. iranians are sneaky nucularists 2. terrorists use the internet 3. MS13 and other gangs are really bad.

* when the tv shows footage of madrasses, is it compulsory to show the kids looking like brainwashed autistics? or just an optional extra?

* in response to 14 dead marines, blinky said: ""We're at war. We're facing an enemy that is ruthless. If we put out a (pullout) timetable, the enemy would adjust their tactics,""
heaven forbid that the terrorists change their tactics. lets hope that they keep doing the same thing over and over again. that means that we are winning.

* stupid ABCNews is saying that haditha is "*infested* with insurgents" "the marines are more resolved than ever" - yay resolve.

* "If Bin Ladin really wanted to destroy America, he'd forget about the terrorist cells and the hijackings and just hire himself an extremely well-connected Washington lobbying firm. If he was willing to spread enough cash around Capitol Hill, I bet he could have us nuking ourselves" (link)

* "A friend of mine predicts the day will come when mothers in this country get their children to eat their vegetables (or wash their ears or do their homework or go to bed on time) by warning them that if they don't, the big bad George W. Bush will come and get them. I don't know about that, although I did successfully terrify my kids into submission once by threatening them with the Cheney monster. I'll never make that mistake again: The nightmares kept them up for weeks." (link)

* billmon wonders about the late surge in votes to schmidt in ohio after the machines couldnt count votes cos it was too hot (link)

* "If you don’t understand politics, a commentator over on Atrios put it very well: (Hackets effort in ohio) is as if Jerry Falwell had come within a handful of votes of winning a congressional seat from San Francisco." (link)
