An emperor-has-no-clothes moment seems upon us.

* adam sent through this cnn piece which has the president's approval numbers at 38%.

* froomkin @ wapo: "An emperor-has-no-clothes moment seems upon us." (link)
froomkin wrote that because of the 2 nasty-ish pieces in Time and Newsweek over the weekend. what he means, whether he realises it or not, is that "An emperor-has-no-clothes moment seems upon (the media)." joe public has actually been way ahead of the media for months. the amazing thing is that mr and ms public have actually been ahead of the media, despite the msm.

if it wasnt for blogs, and people relentlessly beating on their parents and siblings, then that curve would probably still be flat. keep at it kids - we need to get that line into the no-choice-but-impeachment red zone.

that graph line has been pointing down for months - there is a mild katrina downward bump - but he was 40% before the hurricane - and itll just keep getting worse.

if only this effect happened a year ago. if only. if only. diebold probably would have still won the election - but it may have been sufficient to cause riots and get americans to steal back their country. for 3 years ive been saying that we needed riots to throw the fuckers out of power - ive always said that the only unknown was whether the military would support a coup, or turn their guns on the people. before the election, i thought it was probably a 50/50 proposition. the amazingly good news is that it appears that the risk equation has completely changed. i almost feel that a) we could storm the barricades and bring out the guillotines now if we wanted, and much more importantly, b) we dont have to - the urgency has gone - we have time on our side. weve got mojo. next month there will be more of us. and we will continue to be visible. finally. the marches on the 24th will be really important. find one locally - and recruit everyone you know. as i said last week, " ill wager that the attendance at the peace rally on sep 24 will dwarf the freedom fries walk attendance." - we have to make sure that is true - particularly after their disastrously failed freedom fries walk on sunday.

* ftr - the title on the story by the cnn poll story is : "Poll: Bush approval at 39 percent". The actual AP survey headline is "Public Mood Darkens". fuck i hate the AP. can u imagine being *that* much worse than CNN?!
