I think i may need a bathroom break?

* dont forget the awesome photo i pointed to today if you didnt see it: "I think i may need a bathroom break?" way way too funny.

* " A federal judge declared the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance in public schools unconstitutional" (link)
michael newdow - we love you!!! I hope kenney asks John Roberts about this one - constitutional originalism and all that

* "In what may become the next major post-Katrina policy, the White House was working yesterday to suspend wage supports for service workers in the hurricane zone as it did for construction workers on federal contracts last week, administration and congressional officials said." (link)

* according to to cbs, 54% of americans are closely watching the Roberts nomination hearing, and 64% dont know enough about him to state whether he should be confirmed. that 64% is incredible. whatever happened to the knee-jerk repug reaction in support of blinky? and a large % of people dont seem to have fallen for the media mantra that his nomination will be a slam dunk. incredible.

* didja see blinky's speech at the UN? i loved the crowd shots. the faces of all the world leaders present reminded me of the disdain on the faces during powell's UN speech.

* "54 Republican US Senators (there are 55 GOP Republicans in the Senate, but the the Louisiana GOP Senator didn't vote) voted against establishing an independent 9/11-style commission to find out what the hell went wrong with the Hurricane Katrine relief effort. 76% of Americans, including 64% of all Republicans, want such a commission established, but every single GOP Senator (save LA) said no. They'd rather we not know what went wrong. They'd rather America be unprepared for a horrendous Al Qaeda chemical, biological, or nuclear attack on one of our cities." (link)
