playing politics with the Downing Street memo

* gilliard: "If Bloomberg is re-elected it will send a message about what a political party can get away with. It will send a huge signal that even in supposedly liberal, true-blue, Democratic New York, you can wipe your ass with the Constitution and no one will remember or care a year later." (link)

* "the president's Food and Drug Administration commissioner has appointed an acting director for the Office of Women's Health, and he's a man -- a man! -- who has spent much of his career working in the field of veterinary medicine." (link)

* panzapope wants to kick gay priests out of the church - however "There is no scientific data about the number of gays in the priesthood; estimates have ranged as high as 50 percent." (link)
i guess that 'd make for a much leaner church...

* "Republicans also accused Democrats of playing politics with the Downing Street memo with the objective of attacking President Bush." (link)
indeed.

* "CNN has a weird split personality depending on which anchor is in front of the cameras and it’s very, very, disconcerting;" (link)
indeedy. watching cnni is even weirder - especially when they flip over to cnn

* "Thirty-five percent (35%) of Americans now say that President Bush has done a good or excellent job responding to Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath. That's down from 39% before his speech from New Orleans...
Following the speech, the President's rating for handling the Katrina crisis fell eight points among Republicans (from 71% good or excellent to 63%). " (link)
