This is the Katrina administration

* you know how there was those possibly-dodgy stories about euthanasia in katrina - well it turns out that if you google "euthanasia katrina" - my post is the number one hit (go figger). in any case, i just noticed in the sitecounter logs that the US dept of health and human services "Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality" has been looking into it.

* " Two days after Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast, President Bush went on national television to announce a massive federal rescue and relief effort.
But orders to move didn't reach key active military units for another three days.
Jamie Gorelick... said clear legal guidelines have been in place for using the military on U.S. soil...
"I'm puzzled as to what happened here," she said." (link)
go read that article, and try to understand what gun blinky was holding to blanco's head.

* cindy: "Wake up: See you in DC on the 24th." (link)
will the media cover the marches this weekend?

* "Cindy Sheehan was arrested moments ago in Union Square, Manhattan for allegedly speaking in the square without the proper permit." (link)

* "Congressional Republicans signaled today that they have abandoned their plan to conduct a joint House-Senate probe of the government's response to Hurricane Katrina...
Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-Tenn.) conceded that he could not overcome Democratic opposition to a joint investigation." (link)
wow.

* john kerry: "Katrina is a symbol of all this administration does and doesn't do. Michael Brown -- or Brownie as the President so famously thanked him for doing a heck of a job - Brownie is to Katrina what Paul Bremer is to peace in Iraq; what George Tenet is to slam dunk intelligence; what Paul Wolfowitz is to parades paved with flowers in Baghdad; what Dick Cheney is to visionary energy policy; what Donald Rumsfeld is to basic war planning; what Tom Delay is to ethics; and what George Bush is to “Mission Accomplished” and "Wanted Dead or Alive." The bottom line is simple: The "we'll do whatever it takes" administration doesn't have what it takes to get the job done.
This is the Katrina administration." (link)
ouch! theres more. are the dems waking up?
