judy miller knew about 911

* "In July of 2001, ...Miller had just learned from a source about an intercepted communication between two Al Qaeda members who were discussing how disappointed they were that the United States had never attempted to retaliate for the bombing of the USS Cole. Not to worry, one of them said, soon they were going to do something so big that the U.S. would have to retaliate." (link)
hmmm - thats quite interesting. im surprised we didnt know this before. someone was trying to get judy to "pre-finger" the attacks on alqaida.

* arianna was on billmaher discussing plamegate - brad has the vid

* wolcott wants scooter to flip (link)

* " consider the truly breathtaking hypocrisy of this portion of Miller's testimony to the Senate this week: "Those who need anonymity are not only the poor and the powerless, those whose lives or jobs might be in jeopardy if they speak up publicly, but even the powerful. All are entitled to anonymity if they are telling the truth ...."" (link)

* its such a shame that saddams trial has been postponed for a month - i wont be able to hear the TalkingHeads say 'defiant' every 14 seconds.

* speaking of saddam, didja know that chalabi's nephew is one of the judges?

* speaking of chalabi, i think my favourite story about him is the one that made Blinky look really really stupid, and his staff completely incompetent (i know, i know)... as you know, chalabi stole $30m or thereabouts from a bank in jordan and was convicted in absentia. so while presidnt blinky was trying to get chalabi installed as king of iraq, blinky met with the king of jordan, and blinky was busy explaining to the king all about this chalabi character and what a fine fellow he was, and the King had to explain to Blinky about the bank heist and the conviction. sweet.
