* btw - when bar bush made those comments about "those people" moving to texas, she should have taken a line out of her hubbies book: "read my lips: No New Texas"
* Jon Stewart: "You never hear about the laws Tom Delay doesn't break." (link)
* the important thing to remember about DeLay, of course, is that his little indictment is the equivalent of a serial philanderer being dumped by his long-suffering wife for having coffee, once, with a female work colleague. $190k cut five ways! lol! how absurd is the whole fucking system? i can think of at least two occasions where he has misappropriated over a billion dollars. funny world.
* agitprop has the wingnut talkingpoints to explain why chickenhawks arent really chickenhawks. funny stuff (link)
* via simbaud, attytood has the details on Hariet Miers, one of the apparent faves for the next scotus pick. she's a longtime bush water-carrier - involved in both the TANG thingy and also the gtech lottery scandal (from memory greg palast did a lot of work on that story)
* cindy sheehan quoting someone: "Katrina will be Bush's Monica. Only worse." (link)
clinton got impeachment hearing for monica, therefore... impeach bush. yay.
* oh, no! froomkin is going on holidays for 10 days. he would have certainly given a shoutout to the Impeachment Poll thingy. damn.
* "Yeah, it's another busy day in America, as we stand on the precipice of some kind of tragic fall for the Bush administration the likes of which would make Oedipus blink his bloody eyeholes and say, "Goddamn, that's gotta hurt." With DeLay indicted, Frist investigated, Miller testifying (which has gotta make Rove's sphincter hurt in anticipation), Bush drinkin', and Cheney's health sinking faster than a rowboat that's been swamped by a barge, there's a feeling out there that something's gotta give." (link)
* everyone is pointing to this handy bit o' writin' - i suggest you read it too.
* raimondo: "(the aipac) case has received relatively little publicity in relation to its importance. It isn't just the fact that, for the first time in recent memory, Israel's powerful lobby has been humbled. What is going on here is the exposure of Israel's underground army in the U.S. – covert legions of propagandists and outright spies, whose job it is to not only make the case for Israel but to bend American policy to suit Israel's needs (and, in the process, penetrate closely-held U.S. secrets)... the story of how and why a cabal of foreign agents came to exert so much influence on the shape of U.S. foreign policy will be told." (link)
* "Strange, but for some reason, today the Washington Post decided to run the Larry Franklin plea deal story on page B-1 - the Metro section." (link)
* MATT TAIBBI has a riveting piece in his new home, rollingstone, about his week in nola. (link)
* btw - perhaps someone can help me here - ive been struggling with this forever. is there some software or something where you can actually keep track of comments that yuo make on websites and see the responses and all the rest? the internet should be really good at managing something like that - is there anything to help manage that sort of thing? im sure im not the only one with this problem. i dont know how many articles and blog posts i read per day - 200? its impossible (for me) to keep track - and so if i wanna leave a comment or start a conversation in the comments section or something, i totally get lost and forget to go back to it or whatever. i always have at least 20 browser windows open at any given time and i simply dont know how to manage it. DKos has a good feature - but i dont hang out there very much. typekey doesnt seem to track comments for some stupid reason - they could easily implement it across all their websites. blogger is the same. its so stupid. (or am i missing something?) everyone must have the same problem. any ideas?
