bush: base support

driftglass:
" there is an irreducible minimum number of Americans who are so hopelessly, mentally and morally decomposed that it literally does not matter what Dubya does, they will always side with him in the end.

Strafe a pack of snuggly puppies while singing “Wake Up, Little Susie”? Throw burning kittens at homeless children? Beat pregnant women with prosthetic limbs pilfered from wounded veterans? About 1/3 of this country would find a way to call such things “Strong Leadership in Troubled Times.”" (link)
these are the people they proudly call 'the base'. btw - doesnt 'al qaeda' translate as 'the base'? its unclear where that name actually came from - richard clarke's version is that it came from a map, which literally had alq headquarters or a 'terrorist training camp' which was labelled 'al qaeda' - altho robin cook claimed (just before his death) that it was named after a 'database' - apparently of cia-trained afghan fighters.

for the record, im pretty sure that aforementioned 'training camps' dont exist - and those stupid videos of men in hoods jumping through rings like a seigfreid and ron (sp?) show are all completely fabricated. and im also pretty sure that al qaeda itself doesnt exist - although that is going to be increasingly difficult to prove - now that it is 'an ideology not a hierarchical organization'

the only thing i do know is that bush's base is truly base.
