impeachment news

* the nyt has this: "A poll released Tuesday by the Pew Research Center, a nonpartisan research group, found that 43 percent of Americans believe that the American and British governments lied about Iraq's weapons to justify the invasion"
but not this: " an NBC News / Wall Street Journal poll released November 10th showing 57 percent of Americans believe Bush deliberately misled them in making his case for war"

* " And a new political action committee called ImpeachPAC has raised $30,000 online in one week to create a fund for pro-impeachment candidates. See: http://www.impeachpac.org" (link)

* david swanson lays out the case for impeachment.

* "MPs organising the campaign to impeach Tony Blair believe they have enough support to force a highly damaging Commons investigation into the Prime Minister’s pre-war conduct.
A renewed attempt to impeach Blair over claims he misled parlia ment in making his case for war against Iraq, will be made in the Commons within the next two weeks."(link)

* barbra streisand: "If there was ever a time in history to impeach a President of the United States, it would be now. In my opinion, it is two years too late. We should have done this before the election to spare the country the misjudgment, the incompetence and the malfeasance of this administration."(link)
the only reason i post this is because fred barnes mentioned it on the BeltwayBoys today. fine, fine, it gave him the opportunity to make fun of a hollywoond liberal - but the interesting thing is how desperate the repugs are to try to debunk the impeachment story - fwiw, babs' post is 3 weeks old. all the professional wingnuts are trying to debunk this story in advance. we saw rush limbaugh do the same sort of thing a couple of weeks ago - they professional wingnuts are the only people who are discussing the issue in public. methinx they are scared, scared. now, if only some dems can step up to the plate.
