* hunter senses a change in mood: "What happens if the press decides that dissent is, after all, patriotic? ....... and/or simply because of the continuing Republican political schtick that works so well for dismissing a minority, but considerably less well when you are calling sixty percent of the country traitors for not dancing to the tune?"
* hunter again: " If you're a Republican, you have only two choices in this war: Clap Louder, or Shut Up."
* raimondo on hitchens: "he not only cannot any longer distinguish truth from fiction, but has stopped caring about the difference." (link)
* wow - ive just noticed that soj is blogging again. great news. i havent had a chance to learn the full story.
* bob kerrey was actually on colbert saying that the pres didnt share the war info with others
* for a long time, i assumed that the egadmin would actually 'plant' wmd in iraq, and i blogged it repeatedly. not only did that purportedly odd possibility seem like the only 'reasonable' scenario in advance, i repeated that hypothesis, again and again, when 'administration officials', particularly tony blair, kept repeating the "we will find wmd" mantra months and months after it became obvious that this simply wasnt possible - even to warlovers. theres a report floating around (here via arthur, via steve soto ) that they actually tried to plant stuff and failed. as arthur says: "whenever you think this group of thugs can't do anything worse than what you already know about, you find out they can. They may have tried to do it already."
