Blinky: "a wiretap requires a court order."

* the lying Dover IDiots are being investigated for perjury. incredible. has the nation finally turned sane? it was only weeks ago that we were worried that fairytales might soon be equivalent to science. http://talkleft.com/new_archives/013505.html

* kathy (thnx) sent this through from a speech by Blinky from april 04:
"Secondly, there are such things as roving wiretaps. Now, by the way, any time you hear the United States government talking about wiretap, it requires -- a wiretap requires a court order. Nothing has changed, by the way. When we're talking about chasing down terrorists, we're talking about getting a court order before we do so. It's important for our fellow citizens to understand, when you think Patriot Act, constitutional guarantees are in place when it comes to doing what is necessary to protect our homeland, because we value the Constitution."
this was probably the first of many lies about the program. the steady stream of lies we've seen this past week about the program has been kinda funny - even though it is now SOP. it was "only alqaeda", then "only if one party is off-shore", "We only did it a few times" etc etc.

if their lips are moving, they are lying.

(actually, i wouldnt be surprised if Blinky actually has some wriggle room in his statement above. they probably have a new, cute definition of 'wiretap')
