Charles Krauthammer: Impeachment Nonsense

* media matters does their best to whittle down the list of 2005 outrageous statements to a size 10. (link)

* davidbrooks is worried about snoopgate: "Face the fact that the odds of an attack on America just went up." (link)

* " Italian prosecutors are investigating whether to charge a U.S. soldier with homicide in the shooting of a senior Italian intelligence agent who was escorting a kidnap victim to safety in Iraq, officials said Thursday.
The criminal investigation has been in progress for several months but on Thursday narrowed its focus to the single soldier believed to have fired all of the shots on the Italians' car as it approached a Baghdad checkpoint, officials said." (link)
oh - how much fun would a trial be??? imagine sgrena on the stand...

* Charles Krauthammer has a wapo piece called"Impeachment Nonsense." how lovely to see that charlie expends his xmas real-estate 'debunking' the impeachment thing. i could have hardly hoped for more. except, maybe, impeachment. i dont know if our efforts on impeachment polling had any discernible effect, but i reckon our premise was spot-on. as soon as the media began mentioning the "I-Word", i figured that it would spread like wildfire. similarly, as i've been saying forever, the righties are petrified of this issue - because they know its a real issue. that's why we've seen them repeatedly trying to get out ahead of the issue. finally, it would be remiss of me not to quote charlie's gibberish. just for fun.
"The braying herds have already concluded, Tenet-like, that the president's actions were slam-dunk illegal. It takes a superior mix of partisanship, animus and ignorance to say that."
Krauthammer is hopping mad. as mad as Richard Morin.
