Bush is probably lying right now

* driftglass: "Being "right" to a GOPer doesn’t mean fidelity to the truth, or to the facts on the ground. This is a Party that still cannot collectively admit they fucked up in Iraq. Cannot admit, in the face of overwhelming evidence, that their President lied to them. Repeatedly. Wherever he is, he’s probably lying right now."

* i'm totally befuddled by this 'google' story. it's getting an extraordinary amount of coverage, and much of the story seems to focus on google 'holding out' despite the fact that aol, yhoo and msft have already sold out. is it google's pr team that is pushing the story? if so, great job. and also, if so, we can maybe expect google to hold out forever.

* davidbrooks was in total whore mode on friday's lehrer (not surprisingly) - the talking point is that when an AlQ terrorist is captured with his/her laptop, that laptop will have lots of email addresses and phone numbers, and because we live in the 21st century information age, it's ok to ignore FISA because there'd be too much paperwork. too much hard work. brooks: 'a pile of fisa applications as tall as this building'.

* kathy sent me a funny link with a dialogue with the president.
