fake wire-transfers

* josh on Amanpour: "But if this were to take a truly Nixonian turn and it turns out that this was being used against political enemies, anti-war groups or journalists then we're talking a whole 'nother ballgame." (link)
umm - josh is late to the party if he has any doubts that the 'taps were used for political purposes. i'm continually surprised that anyone gives this maladministration any benefit of doubt.

* one of the most amazing things in the abramoff story that goes completely unmentioned is that apparently it is pretty easy to fake a write-transfer for tens of millions of dollars. is this the only time abramoff has faked a wire-transfer, or was it an old trick of his?

* democracyrising has the top ten 'under-reported stories' - v/potus impeachment is #7. (link)

* "President Bush is expected to announce a list of recess appointments to a host of key federal positions as early as tonight or Thursday morning, including two controversial nominations that Democrats have attacked as patronage appointments for unqualified nominees." (link)
heckuva job, julie.

* "Mr. Abramoff says he has information that could implicate 60 lawmakers." (link)

* "The Livingston Group has received over $9 million in (lobbying) payments from Turkey." (link)
that's $9m since 1999. $2m per year - thats a lot more than what feith and perle charged...
