* the NYT joins in with an article connecting WIlkes to the Alexander Strategery Group
* this from an earlier post of mine: "On Sept. 20, 2002, three months after (Perfect Wave) was founded, it donated $15,000 to Delay's Texas PAC.... The same month that Wilkes launched PerfectWave, he hired Alexander Strategy Group – composed of DeLay insiders – as his lobbying group on Capitol Hill."
(they also donated to DeLay's presumed successor, Roy Blount)
* redhedd on the Duke: "The fun thing about wired conversations is that the tapes are later transcribed, and used as evidence by the investigating officers, first for the grand jury testimony for indictments. Those transcripts generally get entered as evidence if the case goes to trial -- which means they become part of the public record. So, coming soon to a courthouse hear you: a script for bribery, corruption and scandal potentially involving members of Congress and those who bribe them. And Duke hung out with a decidedly Republican crowd on the Hill."
* digby reports back from a family visit: "How is FoxNews indoctrinating the subjects these days, you ask? Well, it's interesting. From this small subset of wingnuts, it looks like the Abramoff scandal is spawning a kind of feverish excitement, although they don't seem to realize that it's going to affect their favored political party more than the hated liberal traitors. The atmosphere was very reminiscent of gatherings during Whitewater and Monicagate and it occurred to me that they are either addicted to scandal in general or they were so conditioned during the Clinton years that they now automatically associate scandal with an advantage to their side... They also complained that Bush is on TV too much. His hectoring bozo-ism embarrasses them now."
* the John Birch Society is having an impeachment poll. 65% want him impeached. p.r.i.c.e.l.e.s.s. even more amazing than the results are the fact that they are running it at all, on the front page. here's the main option:
"Yes, because he lied us into war, has used the NSA to eavesdrop on the conversations of Americans without a court order, and has violated the Constitution in other ways."ahhhhmen, brother.
