Bolton had blood in his eyes for the Nonproliferation Bureau

* there has been a bunch of speculation about Plame's actual job before she was outed, including some questions about whether she was also (somehow) working at State - perhaps under/around/in place of Fleitz - not least because Judy Miller's notes from her first meeting with Libby state "Wife works in bureau?", and the notes from her second meeting state "Wife works at Winpac." (by all accounts, the WINPAC is at best only partly-true - emptywheel notes that "For now, anyway, that one line about WINPAC saved Libby's ass.")

emptywheel also speculates that:

"Libby explained how he knew what he knew about Plame. He was basically saying she has done some work in the Nonproliferation bureau at State. Of course, you don't want ot say this, because it would expose that Bolton/Wurmser/Fleitz are involved." (link)

i don't really know how it all fits toegether, other than to note that the latest Strobel article called "State Department sees exodus of weapons experts" piqued my interest - particular this:
