darby pix

as you know, i've long called for the release of the Darby photos. As i mentioned yesterday, some are being shown on Australian TV today by a station called SBS (which i'd argue is perhaps the best FTA TV station on the planet.) Rawstory has some of the pix. Click to see larger versions if you are so inclined.

horrific, but anodyne compared to the videos of guards raping screaming little boys, with a cheering audience and a video camera

may john yoo, abu gonzales, george blinky bush, dick cheney and donald rumsfeld rot in hell.

forever.

motherfuckers.

Seymour Hersh has apparently seen at least one video. This from AntiWar :

In a May 21 piece on the previously unreported witness statements from Abu Ghraib prisoners, the Washington Post reported the account of detainee Kasim Mehaddi Hilas. According to the Post, Hilas, whom American personnel had been beaten, stripped, photographed and threatened with sexual assault, also witnessed a teenage boy being raped in October 2003 at Abu Ghraib by someone the Post identified as "an Army translator."

Also from the same article by Lisa Ashkenaz Croke:

Hersh said in his speech last month that the U.S. government is terrified that the photographs and video evidence proving the abuse and rape of children will come out.

"I can tell you some of the personal stories of some of the people who were in these units who witnessed this," Hersh commented. "I can also tell you written complaints were made to the highest officers. And so we're dealing with an enormous, massive amount of criminal wrongdoing that was covered up at the highest command out there and higher."

(if the link doesn't work copy and paste it. i never could get the hang of html)

[snip]

Some of the worst things that happened that you don’t know about. OK? Videos. There are women there. Some of you may have read that they were passing letters out, communications out to their men. This is at [Abu Ghraib], which is about 30 miles from Baghdad — 30 kilometers, maybe, just 20 miles, I'm not sure whether it's — anyway. The women were passing messages out saying please come and kill me because of what’s happened. And basically what happened is that those women who were arrested with young boys, children, in cases that have been [video] recorded, the boys were sodomized, with the cameras rolling, and the worst above all of them is the soundtrack of the boys shrieking. That your government has, and they’re in total terror it’s going to come out. It’s impossible to say to yourself, how did we get there, who are we, who are these people that sent us there.
