via driftglass: "PAT ROBERTSON: Studies that I have read indicate that having babies is a sign of a faith in the future. You know, unless you believe in the future, you're not going to take the trouble of raising a child, educating a child, doing something. If there is no future, why do it? Well, unless you believe in God, there's really no future. "
i actually agree with pat on this. given the current state of affairs, there's absolutely no point. these people are fucking up the future - and i doubt that i could find a reason to bring someone else into this world. the only reason i get outta bed every day is to stop these mofo's from making it worse.
* driftglass' new mantra, and rightly so: "Because in the Age of Dubya, you can either be a Good American, or a Good Republican, but you can no longer be both."
* here is driftglass on the mccain / obama thing. achingly exquisite, penetrating, insightful, as always. one day, i'll find some words that looseley, approximately, ineffectively, unsatisfactorily, describe a driftglass post. and i'll be happy. (damien, wash your mouth out)
* drifty: "The Bush Administration keeps forgetting that Louisiana isn’t Iraq. They are certainly both bloody and catastrophic failures"
* josh: "Quote of the day from Sen. Feingold: "This administration reacts to anyone who questions this illegal program by saying that those of us who demand the truth and stand up for our rights and freedoms somehow has a pre-9/11 world view. In fact, the President has a pre-1776 world view. Our government has three branches, not one. And no one, not even the President, is above the law.""
drifty claims the quote as his own. congratufuckinglations drifty,
i'd try to grab-quote some more driftglass - but that would be dumb.
if yuo are reading this, and you havent read every word that driftglass ever wrote, then yuo are wasting your time AND embarassing me. stop embarassing me.
