attack ad against busby by the NRCC.

* kucinich: 'there's a little bit of george bush in a lot of people'

* calipendence weighs in from CA50 about an attack ad against busby by the NRCC. Here's the AP description:

The 30-second ad was created and paid for by the National Republican Congressional Committee...

It also includes Busby's comments to reporters in 2004 responding to the arrest of an elementary school teacher for investigation of trying to possess child pornography. The ad cites Busby's comments to reporters that she was shocked by the arrest. She told the San Diego Union-Tribune that Dale Regazzi was a dedicated teacher who was ''always willing to lend a hand.''

An announcer says Busby ''even praised a teacher reported to have child porn, saying he was always willing to lend a hand. That's dangerous.''

Calipendence:
The AP story neglects to put out the REAL context of her quote, which would show how grossly negligent they are at pulling her quotes out of context. This quote showed up in the April 29th version of the San Diego Union Tribune:
"He is a teacher who put in a lot of extra time," Busby said. "He was always willing to lend a hand. I was shocked about the investigation."
They of course leave off the last sentence (and AP doesn't point this out explicitly), and that changes the whole meaning of what she said!
Fukkers.

they're desperate. we're in for a helluva 6 months.

Calipendence also notes that the corporate media is wholly complicit for running an ad like this - even while they refuse to run ads by moveon et al. I concur.

Mike Malloy just last night was pointing out that we aren't going to believe all of the gross swiftboat style attack ads, etc. that the Republicans are going to spit out across the nation in the coming months for November. He didn't say anything specifically about Busby (at least not at the time I tuned in), but this ad just looks to be a preview of what's coming for the rest of the Dems later. This just happens to be one of the earliest "decision points" that the Rethugs have to "pull out all of the stops" for!

if busby wins, the 'landslide' headlines will be terrible for months for repugs
