i was hoping to have some weekend photo-blogging, but i didnt have any good photos - so i'll have to tell you a little story from the farm-yard
yesterday i woke up to a new family member. mum is very nervous so i couldnt get very close.

that pic wasn't going to be worth a post all by itself - but i was wandering in the adjoining paddock this eve and heard a very loud CHEEPCHEEP. For some reason that only the invisible hand of
evolution the IDiot Designer can explain, there's apparently a tipping point where the mother decides the smartest thing to do is to look after the post-hatched babies and
abort abandon the remaining eggs. apparently one of the abandoned eggs miraculously become a chicken - here she is:

again - not a very good pic - but i was able to move l'ill chicky into the same paddock as her mum & sibling and was able to place her within earshot of mum - and within a couple of confused hours, they appear to have become a family of three.
The Intelligent Designer will be grumpy at me for messing with His Plan, and one of the neighbourhood hawks will probably have to look a bit harder for its next meal.
But I need the eggs.

"But I need the eggs" is my favorite punchline. I find it becomes a sort of mantra, usable in many frustrating or puzzling situations. That's why I surfed in.
I loved finding it connected to the chick/chicken story.
thanks for making me smile!
