fuck fuck fuck

*
After the 2004 presidential election, Cuyahoga County election workers secretly skirted rules designed to make sure all votes were counted correctly, a special prosecutor charges.
While there is no evidence of vote fraud, the prosecutor said their efforts were aimed at avoiding an expensive - and very public - hand recount of all votes cast. Three top county elections officials have been indicted, and Erie County Prosecutor Kevin Baxter says more indictments are possible. (link)
expensive and public. jeebus fucking christ. and what the fuck is it with american journalists and their fucking euphemisms. even the fucking good ones who fucking break fucking good stories. it fucking drives me fucking insane. when some motherfuckers steal a fucking election or two and fuck up the rest of the fucking world in the fucking process, i'm not of the habit of describing it as "secretly skirting rules".

secret fucking skirting? what the fuck?

my fucking head is about to fucking explode. and this is from a journo doing good work. bravely breaking a good story.

were three top election officials indicted on the charge of skirting? with more to come?

i really need to get myself a copy of the journalists' euphemism dictionary - seriously. imagine you were sitting down in a meeting and you had to brainstorm about a set of words that would describe the fact that the current regime was illegitimate - knowing that they stole the previous election - how long would it take to come up with the descriptor "secretly skirted rules"?

thats some serious brainstorming - even if Frank Luntz himself was at the table.

i fucking apologise in fucking advance for fucking swearing all over the fucking place - but im fucking at the end of my tether with these fucking criminals and the fuckers who facilitate their fucking crimes with their fucking word crimes and their fucking thought crimes and all of their other fucking crimes - not least of which is killing lots of fucking people.

grrrrr

The core point you seek to make here would have been more effectively articulated if you had chosen to exclude coarse language in its expression.

Apology accepted.

I agree with all you say.

Alcuin - i'm not sure if you are a regular here - but i rarely use the F word.

thanks for commenting. the point that i made has been repeated a thousand times by a thousand different people and still we see the same thing again and again - and so i decided to go completely ballistically overboard to make a point.

i dont know how else to respond to the creeping euphemismism - its like we are a bunch of frogs in a saucepan that is gradually warming... someone needs to shout the alarm

Fuckin' A right, Lukery!

I'm Fuckin' pissed too! I fuckin' remember a story that came out a long fuckin' time ago not too long after the fuckin' election that made the fuckin' assertion that the recount was being fuckin' done on pre-fuckin' selected voting precincts instead of fuckin' truely randomly selected precincts as state law required, which would have fuckin' spotted this sort of "secret skirting rules" (state fuckin' LAW that is) and spotted the fuckin' voter fraud then! Fuckin' Blackwell and his bunch, instead of obeying state law were fuckin' charging those that were challenging them on this with some sort of fuckin' crime themselves, so that no fuckin' legal challenges went through! Don't remember if that was fuckin' Cuyahoga county or other counties, but I think it was a fuckin' fact that they were fuckin' with votes in certain fuckin' precincts, which they knew where they were in the state, and were fuckin' determined that no fuckin' recounts were going to happen in those locations. Guaranfuckingteed!

Hope tomorrow things run smoothly! I'm still wondering if the Republicans have a voting list that the Dems don't have access to that consist of the newly "attempted to register" voters that are being thrown out by McPherson's new data verification system when their registration form names don't match what's at the DMV, etc. I can see the Rethugs having exclusive access to these voters and being "helpful" to them to ensure that those leaning towards Republicans will make sure to fill out a provisional ballot if they are told they aren't registered. We won't get to talk to those folks at all if that happens. Unless we can prove somehow that they have access to these lists, there's no way to show that this form of cheating that McPherson is engaged in is slanted towards one party or the other, if it's more access to these "missing voters" is the issue and not which party they are in.

Keeping my fingers crossed that we can GOTV tomorrow!

And thanks for soliciting phone bank help here. I would like to especially encourage those folks that are multi-lingual that can speak languages like Filipino or Spanish to look through voting lists to see if they can contact those that might not speak English well. If we can reach those folks with others that can speak their language, that might make a big difference in swaying this election to Busby! When I was walking for Donna Frye earlier last year in these neighoroods in Miramar, there are a LOT of Asians, and more particularly Filipinos that live around here. They were the ones that were hard to talk to and persuade to vote a certain way.

You were (rightly) wound up, an as someone once said 'swearing is a laxative that purges the soul.' It may have been me, can't remember. The tea was awful at my last election count, if that's any consolation
