* "Asked whether the term "strong and decisive leader" describes Bush, 46 percent said yes" (link)
jeebus. i think the respondents misheard - and thought they were asked if he was a 'wrong and derisive' leader.
* glenn: "So many (Bush followers) - including many of their most prominent spokesmen and pundits - desperately seek out, and usually find, new enemies on an almost daily basis who are decreed to be deserving of scorn, hatred, imprisonment or worse. They routinely advocate new policies and government action devoted towards the destruction of their political opponents on the ground that the targeted individuals are not just political opponents, but enemies of the United States."
*
"Later, Bush said: "I base a lot of my foreign policy decisions on some things that I think are true. One, I believe there's an Almighty. And, secondly, I believe one of the great gifts of the Almighty is the desire in everybody's soul, regardless of what you look like or where you live, to be free."" (link)there's so much absurdity here that i barely know where to start - but let me just offer this: from memory, the cumulative number of humans throughout history is approx 80 billion. what percentage of them were 'free'? where the fuck has god been all these years?
* Blinky speaks: "We are a nation of law. By the way, you can be a nation of law and compassionate at the same time.""
* 'parently Blogger has been eating posts. sorry about that...

he's telling US about being all compassionate 'by the way?!?' everything he says should prove to everyone what we've known for years: he has NO FUCKING IDEA of what he's talking about. i'm so pissed off...
I think that the total # of people alive or dead is more like 10-11 billion. Most people who have ever been alive are alive now. Thank (blame?) the Green Revolution for that.
When I think "freedom" I think Guantanamo.
