before Ahmadinejad was elected

* olmert in DC:
"Iran can also be expected to pop up in the discussions. "Iran has been intruding on the calculus" in US-Israeli relations "for a long time," says Hughes. Olmert is scheduled to meet with Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld. Hughes adds that the very public belligerence of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad toward Israel means there will be "a bigger security-defense component [to this visit] than would have otherwise been the case."" yeah right. how about this from april 05 (before Ahmadinejad was elected):
"Spreading photographs of Iranian nuclear sites over a lunch table at George Bush's ranch in Texas, the Israeli Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon, urged the US President to step up pressure on Tehran to give up its nuclear program.

Mr Sharon claimed during his visit on Monday that Israeli intelligence had proof that Iran was near "a point of no return," US and Israeli officials said."
