Bush's big fish.... no, not Osama

* David Swanson :

"Ray McGovern Is Going to Rumsfeld's House

Ray McGovern wasn't aiming to make Donald Rumsfeld stutter and stammer like a kid caught cheating on a test when he asked him last week why he'd lied us into a war. That was just a side benefit. Ray wants answers, and he's taking his demand to Donald Rumsfeld's house in Washington, D.C.

* Kleiman:
"The basic Republican political play from 9-11 to the present is "Propose something plausibly related to national security so bone-headed, unconstitutional, corrupt, or just plain disgusting that Democrats will have to vote against it. Then attack the Democrats for being soft on terrorism." The Hayden nomination may be another iteration of that play. But times have changed, and I doubt it will work. Why not? Because the President is now widely unpopular and distrusted."
* Peter Daou:
"Reuters and the Associated Press offer dueling versions of Bush's latest embarrassment, providing us another glimpse into the world of CBA (cover Bush's ass). Asked about the highlight and lowlight of his presidency, Bush offered these thoughtful bookends: on the one hand, September 11th, on the other, catching a big fish.... no, not Osama."
* "Volz, who has been talking to prosecutors for three months, is providing information on other lawmakers and staff, according to a source close to the ongoing investigation." (link)
